Planning Tips
- Start planning your trip several months in advance.
- If possible pick your trip in the value season (slow times of the year).
- Best time to go
- January (except New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' Week in February
- The week following Labor Day until the week prior to Thanksgiving
- The week following Thanksgiving until mid-December
- Next best time to go
- After Presidents' week in February through early March
- Late April through early June (except Memorial Day weekend)
- Columbus Day Weekend (October)
- The first part of Thanksgiving week
- Worst time to go
- Presidents' week in February
- Mid March through Late April ("Spring Break")
- Memorial Day weekend
- Mid June through Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day and weekend
- Christmas week through New Year's Day
- Plan to visit for 4 days or more as there are 4 parks and it will take at least that long to see them
- If you come during the summer months freeze bottles of water to carry into the park
- To enjoy the sit down restuarants, make priority seatings to assure yourself a table. Most reservations can be made 180 days out.
- Bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, don't wear new shoes because you don't want blisters here
- Be prepared for rain, in Florida afternoon showers are almost guaranteed, you can set your clock by them
