Epcot was is the second park built at Walt Disney World. EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow. Walt came up with the idea to design a city that would be at the forefront of technology and innovention. It was originally inteneded to be home to 20,000 people and to be a testbed for planning cities and organizations. It never actually developed like Walt envisioned it would but it is still a showcase of technology and culture. The park is divided into 2 areas, Future World and World Showcase. Future World is home to the technology aspect of Epcot. It houses the rides and exhibits that showcase how technology has influenced our world. World showcase displays small samples of eleven countries in pavillions. In each pavillion a small sample of culture, food, and entertainment are presented. The unique aspect of the countries is that the cast members in each country are actually from that country. They are brought over for a 1 year period to represent their country.
