The magic kingdom is the park that got it started in Walt Disney World. It opened it's gates on October 1, 1971. It is broken up into 7 different lands. Main Street USA is the first one as you enter the park. It harkens back to to turn of the century America. It even has a functioning barber shop on the left as you pass city hall. As you reach the end of Main Street you are at the hub of the park in front of Cinderella's Castle. All lands surround this hub. The other lands are Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and Mickey's Toontown Fair. There is only a couple of attractions left in Magic Kingdom that Walt Disney actually had a hand in designing. One of these is the Carosuel of Progress. This ride was actually designed for the 1964 New York's world fair. It was designed for the General Electric pavillion.
